 Tom"s Creepy Hallway
We walked through a high hallway
 into a bright rosy-colored space,
fragilely bound into the house by French windows at either end.
 the windows were ajar
and gleaming white against the fresh grass outside that seemed to grow a little way into the house.
A breeze blew through the room,
blew curtains in at one end and out the other like pale flags,
twisting them up toward the frosted wedding-cake of the ceiling,
and then rippled over the wine-colored rug,
making a shadow on it as wind does on the sea.

Would you marry for money?

I would marry for money because that would be a healthy relationship for the person who does not have the money. Many people would marry for money, and many people already ready have done it. I would be in that category of what they call gold diggers. People have this conception that they are bad people if they marry for money, but they are really doing it to survive because they cant make it on their own. It is not necessarily bad to marry someone with money, I only do it if the girl is extremely hot and buys me everything. People may call me shallow but I do not care its just who I am and what I stand for.

Peoples apprearances are very deceptive. They may look like a complete loser when you first see them, but if you really get to know that person they could be interesting and fun to be around. When i first meet one of my best friends (Jesse) I thought he was stuck up and that he was all that. But when I really got to know him I found out that he is a cool person to be friends with. You just never judge a book by its cover. Most people are concerned about how they dress and look, because they think if they do it right they will have many friends. To me it is about how a persons personality is, and how they act. That is what I true to judge a person on. not what is on the outside. I truly believe that are values are empty. No one really looks at a persons values anymore, its just about what is on the outside.
I am pretty sure I would rather have a girlfriend with money so that she can supply all of my needs and wants, and I would not have to spend a single dollar to get what I want. I think if everyone had a choice between a rich person, or just an average person, 99% of them would choose the rich any day of the week.

Cody Johnson Assimilate

The word assimilate means to take in another culture or to take in someones customs, and beliefs. In the play A Raisin in the Sun Beneatha really is worried about assimliate, because her attitude reflects one of a white rich women . She wants to be free woman, and wants to be able to make her own choices in life, not always asking for her sister or mother for any help. Early in the play she argues with Ruth about how she never asked anything from them and that they would treat her the same (free). I really think it is a weakness for her, because later on in the play she will probably get into a big mess and need her family to help her out. She wants to be a free women, but eventually every one needs help from there family even the rich snobby white girls who think they know everything.
I happen to see alot of people assimilate, especially in San Antonio. People from across the border who are new to our country really try hard to be like Americans. I live on a farm and we have many workers from Mexico that help us with are crops, and I can see them try to take in our culture by they stuff they do, and clothes they buy. Many people assimilate here, you do not really have to even lookn that far and you will see something doing it. It is happening all around us and we really do not even notice it.
I like to think i do not assimilate. I try to be myself and not get sucked into the culture of America. At times I probably do, and do not realize it, but in the long run I like to think I do not.Eric Liu's view on assimilation is that he is a victim to it. He describes it very well in his essay, by giving examples. He says that when he ate dinner at a friends house it was so much different then how his family ate dinner. Eventually he started to act and dress like a American and take in our culture. He seemed to really ashamed for fleeing his own culture, but blames it on his parents for not being strict on him.
